We have decided to join the world of technology and start a family blog. We named it "Thistles and Daisies" because we believe that "All things work to the good of those that love the LORD and are called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28) Life has offered us many beautiful flowers, but in this fallen world, a few weeds are surely to come. God has not given us life without weeds, but when viewed with our eyes fixed on Jesus even the weeds have beauty.
Thistles and daisies are our family's two favorite flowers. Christie loves daisies for their simple delicate beauty. They remind us that life is precious and it must be treated with a gentle hand. However, we are called not only to be as gentle as doves, but as shrew as serpents. Micah likes thistles not only because they are beautiful, but because they are shrew and will defend themselves if danger is present.
