We always had a car full, sometimes it was our kids, sometimes not. Here Cousin Quentin joined us for the commute.
One day all of us hiked around Jefferson Lake and Grady especially had a great time.
A family shot half-way around the lake.
Katy having a snack.
Charis enjoying the view.
We visited an old mining town museum in Fairplay, CO. Micah enjoyed running across the tops of the train cars.
We made friends with one of the neighbors and he and his wife gave us a private tour of some of the local homesteading cabins that are still standing in on the mountain where our cabin was. According to the records, the man that lived in this cabin would walk six miles to and from work everyday, but had to clear the rocks in the background part way there. I sure am glad we don't have a commute like that!
Micah, Nathan and Jake climbed the peak on the right one day. No map, no trail, just sheer determination. (The kids and I chose to go to Breckenridge to go shopping that day.)
We had a wonderful time with family and thouroughly enjoyed God's creation!
I haven't checked your blog in a long time. So glad I did. What a happy report!
ReplyDeleteI haven't checked your blog in ages -- 2 new posts! Cool! I love the picture of Charis looking through the window of the old cabin.
